Abstract

The background of researchers doing this research is based on the problem at hand how does the use of angkak extract (monascus purpureus) as a cosmetic hair dye. One of the ingredients used to dye hair is natural the red rice riser (monascus purpureus). Research aims to know how taking advantage of angkak extract (monascus purpureus) in the making of a cosmetic supplendency hair dyes and seeing the results of imptoved hair dyes from extract angkak (monascus purpureus) of resilience after application. Researcher here using observation methods, literature methods, experiment methods, documentation methods and the questioner method eith its analysis is qualitative approarch. Studies conducted by researchers regarding the use of angkak extract (monascus purpureus) as a cosmetic for hair dyes show that angkak pyrogallol, copper II sulfat, and xantham gum were used as a dye. With the composition used is 5 grams of angkak extract, 1 gram pyrogallol, 2 grams of copper II sulfates and 1 gram of xanthan gum results in cosmetic availability hair dye, which is a slightly grainy color, a slightly coarse texture, rusting angkak extract still and a deep red hair color chart based on observation the color produced by suppressive use of hair dyes from angkak extract (monascus purpureus) that is to survive the two time process of subusing the red one slightly fades and its purple remains for four times the tanning process of dark brown and red is gone.
